Background Introduction
Amid the escalating global energy crisis and the continuous rise in energy demand, new energy technologies are flourishing at an astonishing pace. The boundaries of the new energy power generation sector are constantly expanding, and the new energy and power market is taking shape at a rapid rate. As a key hub in the application landscape of new energy, the significance of DC systems is increasingly prominent, and their application scenarios are becoming more extensive. The AIM-D series DC insulation monitor has emerged in response to the development needs of this industry. It is a dedicated grounding fault detection tool for ungrounded DC systems. When a grounding fault occurs in a DC system, this monitor can promptly and accurately detect the anomaly and immediately issue an insulation fault alarm signal, thus establishing a solid defense line for the safe and stable operation of the DC system. From the DC screens in power generation plants and substations to electric vehicle charging devices and UPS power supply systems; from energy storage systems to various DC power grids, the AIM-D series DC insulation monitor, with its reliable performance and quality, plays an indispensable role in numerous DC system scenarios and has become a powerful assistant in ensuring the safe operation of the power system.

DC Insulation Monitoring Solution
DC system insulation monitoring DC power supply solution application scenarios: DC screens in power plants and substations, UPS power supply systems
The DC panel is connected to an AC 380V power supply. The battery module is charged regularly. When the AC 380V power supply is lost, the DC busbar is powered by the backup battery. The insulation monitor can monitor the insulation conditions of the DC busbar and its branches. If insulation damage or single-phase grounding occurs at any position in the DC system, the instrument will send out an alarm signal to alert the staff to troubleshoot the fault.
2.DC System Insulation Monitoring Solution for DC Charging Stations
Application scenario: DC charging station
This example is a dual-charger 120kW DC charging station. The insulation monitor measures voltage, resistance and current by the controller. When the charging station is in use, if only gun A or gun B is used separately, the controller controls the corresponding IMD1 or IMD2 insulation monitor to conduct insulation monitoring first; when both guns are used simultaneously, the controller controls the IMD1 insulation monitor to conduct insulation monitoring first.
3.Solution for DC System Insulation Monitoring and Energy Storage System
Application Scenario: Energy Storage System
In this energy storage system, multiple insulation monitors are installed. However, at the same time and in the same system, only one insulation monitor can be operational. Therefore, a control module is required for control. A time-sharing control strategy is adopted, using a communication trigger method to ensure that only one insulation monitor is working at the same time.
4.DC System Insulation Monitoring Solution for Photovoltaic System
Application Scenario: The photovoltaic system converts light energy into electrical energy. It generally includes photovoltaic panel arrays, combiner boxes, grid-connected inverters, monitoring instruments, and grid-connected switches.
modules is collected and then fed into the grid through the inverter. The inverter is equipped with an internal isolation transformer. At the front end of each collector box, there is an independent system. For an independent non-grounded DC system, an insulation monitor should be installed to detect the insulation condition of the DC busbar and its branches with respect to the ground. When insulation damage or single-pole grounding occurs, the instrument can promptly alarm, alerting the staff to inspect and troubleshoot the circuit to prevent the fault from escalating and causing a short circuit.
